LuVerne looks like a lake after heavy rainfall

Heavy rains have hit areas of the state, particularly LuVerne in north central Iowa where the overnight storm dumped up to ten inches of rain. LuVerne Mayor Dennis Holmes.says virtually every basement in town has water in it, many have water up to the rafters. Kossuth County Emergency Management Coordinator Jim Kelley has been out assessing the damage.Kelley says over three hundred trees in the town were damaged, and most every street in LuVerne was blocked at some point today.
