Decorah teens nabbed for passing funny money

July 12, 2000 By admin

Two Decorah teens are in trouble after printing and spending fake 10-dollar bills. 15-year olds Peter Lee and Jonathan Oakley are charged with felony forgery. They are also facing charges in LaCross, Wisconsin. Police say they’ve been aware of the fake bills for about three weeks, but weren’t able to catch the two until another teen gave them a tip. Because of the small amount of bills passed, the Secret Service has decided to let local authorities handle the case. The two boys have been turned over to juvenile authorities.
