A federal survey will soon ask Iowa officials if the state is ready, if terrorists strike. State epidemiologist Dr. Patricia Quinlisk says it’ll help assess where Iowa should focus its emergency-response resources.Quinlisk predicts gaps will be found. For example, Quinlisk says Iowans don’t have to worry about a poison gas attack in a subway, but should give some thought to how to respond to a “bio-terrorist” attack on a corn field.Quinlisk says the survey questionnaires will be send out later this fall to government officials throughout the state.
