Name of Ames drowning victim released

July 17, 2000 By admin

Authorities have released the identity of that five-year-old boy who drowned in an Ames motel Friday night. The parents of five-year-old Gaige Anderson of Newton thought their son had disappeared from the Howard Johnson’s Express Friday night and they began searching the southside of Ames. Another person found the boy at the bottom of the hotel’s swimming pool. Paramedics were called to the scene, but they were unable to resuscitate the boy. Anderson and his parents, Sara Anderson and James Fallon, were guest at the motel. Five-year-old Gaige, whose nickname was Buddy, was to have played in a soccer game at this past weekend’s “Iowa Games.”
