Former Northern Iowa standout Joey Woody heads to Sacramento today where he hopes to see his dream of running in the Olympic Games become a reality. Woody will bid for a spot on the U-S Track and Field team in the 400-hurdles. His first heat is Thursday.Woody will have to make it through two qualifying heats and finish in the top three in Saturday’s final to make the squad. He says there’s no doubt in his mind he can make the team.Woody missed out four years ago but at that time was a relative newcomer to the international scene. He feels the timing is right this year.To make the team, Woody will have to run three races in three days.
