The Iowa Donor Network saw a 43-percent increase in donations during the first half of this year. Network Executive Director Suzanne Conrad says their campaign to increase organ donation has paid off as more people are aware of the need and are donating organs. Conrad says the increase is outstanding compared to other parts of the country. She says donations remained flat last year and only increase five percent nationwide last year. She says there is still room for more improvement as .forty-seven to 48 percent of the potential organ donors in Iowa actually donate. Conrad says you can help by telling your family you want to donate.Conrad says 110 organs were donated in the first half of this year, with 30 people receiving those organs.
