Iowa A-G seeks to block the release of Internet information

Iowa’s Attorney General is joining colleagues from 38 other states to try and block a company from releasing confidential information gathered via the Internet.Assistant Attorney General Bill Brauch says Toysmart.com wants to sell off the information it received from customers as part of a bankruptcy settlement. Brauch says the sale of the information would violate Iowa’s consumer protection laws.Brauch says they hope to block the sale of the information in court. He says the Attorney’s General will be represented by the Massachusetts Attorney General.Brauch says a hearing date on the case hasn’t been set yet.
