RAGBRAI riders roll into snow

Thousands of cyclists have rolled into central Iowa for an overnight stop RAGBRAI stop in Ankeny. The Des Moines “Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa” started the day in Greenfield, and the town’s mayor says there were really no big problems.Greenfield Mayor Bob Guikema says there were a couple of fights, but that’s to be expected when the town’s population swells with over 13-thousand cyclists.Guikema says buses, campers and other support vehicles started rolling into Greenfield Monday morning.Ankeny has a snow machine spewing the white stuff for a “Christmas in July” reception for RAGBRAI riders this afternoon and evening.
