Iowa State University plans to showcase Iowa food during the season-opening football game in Ames. Mike Telford with the I-S-U College of Agriculture says they want to let people see the abundance of food produced in Iowa. Iowa commodity groups will sell samples of Iowa-grown foods, and commercial food companies will also showcase their wares.The event is called the “Iowa Commodity Classic and Taste of Iowa.” Telford says football fans will be able to buy a variety of Iowa-grown products.Telford says it’s also important to show off the many companies that make food products in Iowa as a lot of research goes into adding value to food.The event is September 2nd before and during Iowa State’s football game with Ohio University.
