The Linn County Sheriff’s office is looking for answers on how to handle a sex offender registered as homeless. Sex offenders are required to submit their addresses for a state registry so neighbors can be notified. Linn County Sheriff Don Zeller says he’s asked the Linn County Attorney for advice on how to handle the case.18-year-old Dennis Bunn Junior originally registered with a Marion address, then said he was homeless. Zeller says this case is part of a bigger problem. He says they send renotification letters to sex offenders yearly and about 25-percent of them come back marked “return to sender.” Zeller says that makes the notification process more difficult.Bunn was convicted on two sexual assault charges involving a three-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy. Authorities have classified Bunn as a high risk to re-offend.
