Two Iowa towns seek title of "Most Eye Pleasing"

Two Iowa towns are in the running to be named the most eye-pleasing place in the country. Decorah and Grinnell are among three finalists in the Midwest region in the competition for the title of Prettiest Painted Place in America. Pictures were taken of homes and businesses and submitted to the Paint Quality Institute in Pennsylvania.Jessica Solum is executive director of the Decorah-area Chamber of Commerce. She says being a finalist in the competition is a nice reward for all of the residents’ hard work.Solum says judges could arrive anytime with residents knowing the results this fall.The other finalist in the Great Plains region was Crete, Nebraska.
