Protests disrupted traffic yesterday in Philadelphia, the site of this week’s Republican National Convention.None of the Iowans were harmed by yesterday’s protests, but a few who were trying to get to an afternoon reception in downtown Philadelphia were stuck in traffic. Those who got to the party watched from the rooftop as police cars raced by and the Iowans could see half-a-dozen helicopters hovering overhead to monitor the protests. Philadelphia police arrested dozens of people and raided a warehouse they suspect was the brain center for protestors. All of the Iowans made it safely and in time to last evening’s events in the convention hall.
