Law officers from across the state are taking part in what’s called “Desert Snow” training this week.Iowa State Patrol Sergeant Robert Hansen says training helps officers learn more about how to find drugs hidden in vehicles. The training at Camp Dodge is conducted by Joe David, who has trained law officers all over the world.Hansen says the highways across Iowa make the training important as they are a prime route for drug traffic.Forty-four of the trainees are from the state patrol. The other 36 officers are sheriff’s deputies and city police officers.
