Iowa’s Public Health Director issued a warning today against buying prescription drugs over the Internet. Doctor Stephen Gleason says there are a variety of drugs now available on-line. But, he warns the drugs may’ve been tainted or diluted and could cause more harm than good.Gleason says you should also not give out your address or telephone number to drug sellers on the Internet. Dr. Gleason says the Internet sites do a lot of things that’re illegal.He say the drugs most often sold this way include the impotency pill viagra, the hair loss medication propecia, and steroids. The Executive Director of the Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association joined Gleason at his news conference. Norman Pawleski says selling phony cures is nothing new — it’s just gone high tech.Both Gleason and Pawleski says you don’t gain any financial advantage from buying drugs on-line, because they end of making you sicker.
