Attorney General holds meeting on farm contracts

The Attorney General’s Farm Division begins a series of meetings tonight focusing on production and marketing contracts in agriculture. Assistant Attorney General Steve Reno says the use of contracts has changed dramatically in the last few years.Reno says they’ll explain changes in the laws involving contracts, such as the ability to share contract information.He says the Attorney General wants input on proposed state legislation involving contracts.The first meeting is tonight at the Washington city library at 7 o’clock. The second meeting is tomorrow at the Poweshiek County extension office in Montezuma. Other meetings this month will be held in Manchester, Hampton, Spencer and Fort Dodge.
