I-Cubs see good attendance despite poor record

August 9, 2000 By admin

The Iowa Cubs have struggled on the field all season but the club has done very well at the turnstiles. The I-Cubs have averaged just over six-thousand-200 fans per game so far this season, which ranks fourth in the 16-team Pacific Coast League.General manager Sam Bernabe, says they are proud of the attendance mark considering the struggles of the team.Bernabe says the boost in attendance has been needed because the cost of business has increased with the amount of travel in the Pacific Coast League. The Cubs have 12 home dates remaining and Bernabe says they still have a chance to pass Salt Lake City and move into third in the P-C-L in attendance.
