ISU QB won’t shy away from contact

August 14, 2000 By admin

Staying healthy is a key for any football team and at Iowa State this season the Cyclones are hoping senior quarterback Sage Rosenfels can remain injury free all season. Backing up Rosenfels is redshirt freshmen Gerrin Scott, who has yet to take a snap. Rosenfels says he cannot alter his game to try and avoid injury. Rosenfels says his back-ups are in the same position he was last year. He had very few snaps going into the starting job, but says he worked hard and improved.Rosenfels says there will be no effort to reduce the number of options or quarterback draws the Cyclones run to keep him from getting hit.Cyclone coach Dan McCarney says Scott’s only problem right now is a lack of experience.
