Six of the 57 Iowa delegates to the Democratic National Convention were pledged to Bill Bradley, a former rival of Al Gore. Bradley has endorsed the Vice President, and five of the six Iowans are ready to back Gore, too, but Paul Kraus of Dubuque isn’t. Kraus says he’s holding out until the last minute because he’s representing the thousands of Iowans who supported Bradley in Iowa’s Caucuses. He says he still has some reservations and he’d like to see Gore “embrace Bill Bradley’s bold agenda” before he supports Gore.Bradley supporter David Loebsack of Mount Vernon has no problem switching his allegiance to Gore. Loebsack says Gore is now advancing many of Bradley’s ideas.Al Sturgeon of Sioux City is another Bradley delegate who will cast his ballot for Gore this week. He says they had a good primary that lead to the selection of Gore.Jeannine Grady of Marshalltown is ready to back Gore because she says party unity is what’s important now.Nicole Nowacki of Iowa City will cast her vote for Al Gore. She says Gore proved himself by defeating Bradley.
