August 15, 2000 By admin

The newest sport at the University of Northern Iowa is set to take the field this fall. Back in February, Linda Whitehead was hired to start U-N-I’s women’s soccer program. It is not the first time Whitehead has built a program from scratch. She was the initial head coach for the women’s program at Tennessee-Chattanooga.With a team of primarily freshmen, Whitehead says they don’t have a goal in terms of wins and losses.Whitehead says this first season will be used to set a foundation for the program.
