DOT Commission approves opperating budget

August 16, 2000 By admin

The State Transportation Commission Tuesday approved the Department of Transportation’s operating budget for the next fiscal year. Nancy Richardson of the D-O-T made the budget presentation to the Commission. She says the budget of just over 255-million dollars is a one-point-two-percent increase. Richardson says it’s a “bare bones” budget. She credits her boss — the D-O-T director — with holding the line on the budget. The budget approved Tuesday is for operating expenses and doesn’t include money spent to build and improve roads.
