Project seeks stories from women

August 16, 2000 By admin

The “Cameo Life Stories” project is being launched in Iowa to encourage women to start journals. Iowa coordinator Janet Long says the ultimate goal is to ensure women’s stories are preserved for the ages.Long says women have been left out of history books because men were more likely to keep a diary or journal.Long is traveling the state, giving presentations to groups of women who are starting “Cameo Circles” to work on writing their histories together. Long has started her own life story, too.To learn more about the project, which has been launched worldwide, call Long at 515-284-4335.
