Iowa’s unemployment rate dropped back to its record two-point-one percent level in July. Sha Kahn is a labor analyst with Iowa Workforce Development. He says the two-point-one percent level ties the record low set in March, and the number of unemployed is 200 less than the record 33-thousand-200 set in June. Kahn says the unemployment rate has hovered around the same level the past several months, and probably will continue that way. Many college students are leaving behind their summer jobs to go back to school. Khan says the unemployment formula already deals with those seasonal jobs and they won’t impact employment numbers. The U-S unemployment rate remained stable in July at four-percent.
