Coot hunting season set

The Natural Resources Commission has set the annual coot-hunting season. While people are sometimes called old coots, Guy Zenner of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources says there is a type of bird known as a coot.Zenner says coots are sometimes mistaken for ducks.Zenner says coot hunters can legally shoot down the birds during the duck-hunting season.The duck hunting season runs one week in late September, then resumes in October.
