Clarke College names new AD

Curt Long has been named the new director of athletics at Clarke College in Dubuque. The Marion, Iowa, native had been the head baseball coach at Christopher Newport University in Virginia. Prior to that, Long spent seven years as the baseball coach at Mount Mercy in Cedar Rapids. Long says the recent rise of Clarke College athletics helped make the job attractive.Long says he thought for some time about moving into the administrative end of athletics.Long replaces Lon Boike, who resigned to take a similar job at Minnesota-Crookston.
