Iowa’s o-line takes a hit

Iowa’s offensive line, which struggled during last year’s 1-10 campaign, got some more bad news today when Hawkeye coach Kirk Ferentz ruled freshman tackle Sam Aiello out of Saturday’s matchup with eighth-ranked Kansas State. Aiello has an undisclosed injury.There will be plenty of new faces on the field Saturday. Ferentz says seven true freshmen and three junior college transfers will see action against K-State.Ferentz says to this point the coaches have been pleased with the freshman class.Ferentz says one look at K-State’s starting line-up will show the kind of experience necessary to be successful.
