Grinnell football team ready for season

The Grinnell College football team is hoping a strong finish to the 1999 season will carry over into this year. The Pioneers won their final three games to finish with a 7-3 mark and coach Greg Wallace hopes an ambitious summer training program will help them get off to a quick start.Wallace enters his 13th season at the helm with a roster of 50-players.After throwing for more than 10-thousand yards in his career, All-American quarterback Troy Dougherty graduated. Wallace says Sean Sigler from Davenport will step in.Wallace says they are confident Sigler can direct the offense.Grinnell opens September 9th at home against Claremont Mudd Scripps of California.
