Iowa State piled up 400 yards of offense in Saturday’s 25 to 15 win over the Ohio Bobcats. But immediately afterward, Cyclone coach Dan McCarney acknowledged his team’s performance left even him with too many unanswered questions. He says they need to learn from their many mistakes, but he was proud of the way they played in the extreme heat.McCarney gave senior quarterback Sage Rosenfels a passing grade.Ennis Haywood broke away for a 73-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. He also says they made mistakes and should’ve scored more points.McCarney gave his kickers poor grades, though. Mike McKnight missed an extra point in the second quarter. Tony Yelk missed one in the third. McCarney says the kicks were “ridiculous and embarrassing” and he says it’s a problem they have to get solved.The Cyclone defense blocked a punt AND a field goal Saturday. Next Saturday, the ‘Clones face U-N-L-V.
