Drake kicks off season at home

The Drake Bulldogs open their season at home Saturday against McKendree of Illinois. Drake coach Rob Ash says the Bulldogs will be tested by a McKendree team that’s ranked sixth in the pre-season in N-A-I-A.Ash says the Drake defense will need to stop the run as they use a three back two tight end formation and smash the ball at you.Drake has been a good running team the past few years, but Ash says the offense will have a different personality this season. He says they’ll have to produce big plays.Ash says there is great anticipation for the opener.
