State environmental experts say eastern Iowans are again facing the potential for “unhealthy” air today. Brian Button, an air quality specialist with the Department of Natural Resources, blames a combination of air pollution, the extreme heat and smoke from wildfires out west.Button says an “orange” alert was issued Thursday for Scott and Clinton counties, advising people with respiratory problems that staying outside for any long period of time might create trouble.Button says people who are prone to breathing difficulty need to keep a careful watch on these “orange” alerts.You can check pollution levels online at “www.uhl.uiowa.edu”.
