New leader takes over in RI 2-A football poll

There is a new top ranked team in class 2-A in the latest Radio Iowa high school football poll. After downing previously top ranked Sigourney-Keota on Friday, Solon has jumped from fifth to take over as the new top ranked team in class 2-A, edging out second ranked West Hancock in a close vote. Emmetsburg is third, Carlisle and Mount Vernon complete the top five. The other top ranked teams remain the same. Iowa City high is top ranked in 4-A, Cedar Falls is second followed by West Des Moines Dowling, West Des Moines Valley and Bettendorf. Harlan is top ranked in 3-A, Denison-Schleswig is second. Clear Lake, Grinnell and Decorah complete the top five. West Lyon leads in 1-A, Algona Garrigan is second followed by Aplington Parkersburg Southern Cal and Council Bluffs St. Albert. West Bend Mallard is top ranked in class A, Lynnville-Sully is second then its Lisbon, Manning and Clarksville. Elk Horn Kimballton is top rated in the eight-man poll. Murray is second followed by Adair Casey, Aurelia and Sioux central.
