UNI sets another enrollment record

September 12, 2000 By admin

The University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls has set a fall enrollment record for the third straight year. University Registrar Phil Patton says enrollment increased by 200 to 13-thousand-774. Patton says there’s no problem finding a place to put all the students.Patton says if the enrollment continues to increase, they could run into a shortage of professors to teach the classes. He says it’s a nationwide problem as a significant number of faculty retire.Last week, Iowa State University reported a record enrollment of nearly 27-thousand students. The University of Iowa is expected to release its enrollment numbers sometime this week.
