Schoolboard race ends in tie

September 13, 2000 By admin

There was an unusual result to a school election in Adams County last night. Residents of the Prescott school district were voting on a proposed property tax levy that would finance improvements in the district’s buildings. The unofficial vote, however, ended in a 26-26 tie. The issue needed a simple majority to pass and was therefore defeated. The official canvas of the vote is Friday.
