New team tops the RI Class A football rankings

There is a new top ranked team in the latest Radio Iowa high school football poll. Unbeaten Lynnville-Sully moves up one spot to take over as the new top ranked team in class A, after previously top ranked west bend Mallard lost to Clay Central Everly last week. The Wolverines drop to seventh. Manning is second, East Buchanan, Guthrie Center and Postville complete the top five. The other top ranked teams remain the same. Iowa City high leads in 4-A, Cedar Falls is second then its West Des Moines Dowling, Bettendorf and Cedar Rapids Prairie. Harlan is top ranked in 3-A, Denison Schleswig is second and those teams meet this Friday in Harlan. Clear Lake is third, Grinnell and Waverly-Shell Rock complete the top five. Solon remains top ranked in 2-A, Emmetsburg is second followed by Mount Vernon, Sigourney-Keota and Camanche. West Lyon remains top rated in 1-A, Algona Garrigan is second, Aplington-Parkersburg, Southern Cal and Council Bluffs St. Albert round out the top five. There are no changes in the top five in 8-man. Elk Horn-Kimballton is top ranked then its Murray, Adair-Casey, Aurelia and Sioux central.
