A group of central Iowans is planning an October road trip to the Loess Hills along the Missouri River. Patrice Petersen-Keyes of Polk County’s Conservation Board says the tour will highlight the vast expanse of prairie seen in the Loess Hills.On Saturday, October 14th, up to 94 people will board a bus in Des Moines and head toward Council Bluffs. Petersen-Keyes says most Iowans have no concept of the tall-grass prairie that can be seen in the Loess Hills.Petersen-Keyes says the Loess Hills Hospitality Association helped organize the trip.Thirty spots remain open for the trip.
