Drake hands baton to new relays director

Drake University has named Mark Kostek as the new director of the Drake Relays. Kostek has been the track and field coordinator at the University of Nebraska since 1980. Kostek says it was a “slam dunk” choice to take the job.Kostek says his goal is to make the Relays such an event that fans and athletes across the country will want to come back. He says the warmth of Drake University and Des Moines will ensure that happens.Kostek’s first day on the job will be October 9th.Kostek replaces Bob Ehrhart, who retired after 31-years at the helm.
