Hawks hope to get a handle on Randel in Indiana

September 29, 2000 By admin

The Iowa Hawkeyes are on the road to open the Big Ten race at Indiana. Earlier this week, Hawkeye coach Kirk Ferentz announced redshirt freshman Jon Beutjer would replace Scott Mullen as the starting quarterback. Ferentz says he does not view this as just a one game trial. He says Beutjer will get a chance to prove himself.Last week, Iowa tried to slow down Nebraska quarterback Eric Crouch. This week, the target is on Hoosier quarterback Antwaan Randel El. He says they are both dynamic performers that are tough to stop.
