Central and Simpson meet again in top rivalry

Central and Simpson renew their long-time rivalry on Saturday when they matchup in Pella. Central enters 5-0 and fifth-ranked nationally in division three, while Simpson enters 3-2. Central coach Rich Kacmarynski says records aside, this has always been a good rivalry. He says that’s due in part to the quality of play and the impact on the conference race.Something has to give: Simpson has the top-ranked rushing offense in the Iowa Conference while Central has the league’s top-ranked defense.Kacmarynski says the Central offense is making strides. He says they’re not as far along as he would like.
