The 37 public health agencies of the “Iowa AIR Coalition” are urging Iowans to install carbon monoxide detectors. Jim Doolittle, the Coalition’s statewide coordinator, works in the Linn County Public Health Agency.Doolittle says the hallway outside the bedrooms in your home is the best place to put a carbon monoxide detector.Doolittle hopes Iowans test for radon gas, too, but those tests should be conducted during the winter.October is “National Home Indoor Air Quality Action and Awareness” month.
