The Woodbury County town of Correctionville is looking for answers today following the death yesterday of a sophomore student at River Valley High School. Principal Bob Thompson says 15-year old Derrick Grosskruger collapsed after football practice in the school gym.He says the weather forced the football players inside where they were going through a walk-through in street clothes. Thompson says there wasn’t any physical activity involved. Grosskruger died at the hospital and the cause of his death is still a mystery. He says Grosskuger was in good spirits and had no apparent health problems before he collapsed. Thompson says classes are being held today, but he did call a special assembly at the start of the day to tell everyone what they know to prevent any rumors. Thompson felt it was best to hold classes to allow everyone a chance to speak with counselors.Thompson says the counselors will remain on hand tonight until nine to help anyone who wants to talk about the situation. Tests are being conducted to try and determine what caused Grosskruger’s death.
