1996 presidential candidate Bob Dole says it’s good riddance to the leader of Serbia. Reuters has reported Slobodan Milosevic has boarded a plane and flown out of Belgrade. Protestors seized key buildings in Serbia, and the crowds demanded that Milosevic surrender power. Dole predicts sanctions against the country will be lifted and millions of dollars in aid could go to the company.Dole was asked by President Clinton to go to the Balkans to prod Milosevic to help identify the remains of 40-thousand missing people. He says Milosevic failed to respond to his request that the President meet with the families of those who lost loved ones in the fighting.Dole says Milosevic needs to stand trial for his war crimes. He says the U-S doesn’t have any role to go over and “snatch him.”Dole spoke over the noon-hour in Des Moines then sat down with reporters to discuss a variety of issues.
