Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura and Iowa Senator Charles Grassley stood side-by-side Thursday to call for getting rid of more trade barriers around the globe. Grassley is chairman of the Senate’s International Trade Subcommittee. He calls the pairing with the Minnesota Governor the “tag team for trade.” Ventura says expanding trade is good for the U-S economy. Ventura rejects the argument that open trade hurts American workers as companies ship not only products but also jobs overseas. He says he has confidence that American workers are the best there is and will continue to be the best.Ventura took a shot at the bipartisan presidential debate commission which excluded third party candidates Pat Buchanan and Ralph Nader from this year’s debates. Ventura says less than 50 percent of Americans chose to vote. He says more might vote if they had more choices.Ventura says his mother was born in Iowa, and half his family comes from Iowa.
