Waverly and New Hampton face off in big 3A matchup

In high school football action tonight in class 3A, it is a showdown in district three as fourth ranked Waverly-Shell Rock visits fifth rated New Hampton. Waverly-Shell Rock coach Dave Arns says both teams know it’s a big game. He says you can’t afford to lose any games.Arns says he cannot find a weakness in New Hampton.New Hampton Coach Scott Frerichs says the team that wins has a better shot at winning the district title. Frerichs says it looks like an even matchup with both teams relying on their defense.In eight-man football tonight, second ranked Murray hosts fifth ranked Melcher-Dallas in a key district three matchup. Murray coach Keith Shields says the winner of this game has the inside track to the district title, the loser will need some help to make the playoffs. Shields says Melcher-Dallas features a physical style of play.
