Faulty furances may be to blame for weekend housefires in Palo, Gilbert andForest City. Fire officials are reminding Iowans to have their furnaceschecked before turning them on, and to clean the soot out of chimneys toguard against sparking a fire. No injuries were reported in the three housefires this weekend.
