Sen. Grassley Questions Clinton Health Care Plan

October 10, 2000 By admin

Iowa’s republican U-S Senator is questioning the motives of a Clintonadministration effort to bring health care reforms. The President is tryingto set up “patients’ rights” rules which Congress failed to enact. SenatorChuck Grassley says the timing is suspect as is Clinton’s power to do this.Reports indicate the rules will go into effect before the November election.Grassley calls that suspicious. The rules would set deadlines for H-M-Odecisions on patient claims and help patients appeal decisions. WhileGrassley favors what the Clinton move tries to accomplish, he thinks it’sall just “politics.” The administration’s effort is winning praise from anIowa A-A-R-P activist.
