Iowans share parental tips via book

Two central Iowa women have co-written a book entitled “For Parents Only: Tips for Surviving the Journey from Homeroom to Dorm Room.” Mary Kay Shanley says she and Julia Johnston wrote the book to give parents the advice they need to help their kids navigate the college admissions process.Shanley says she and her husband put two kids through college while Johnston and her husband put three through. The two women did extensive research for the book.The book is being published by Barrons in New York.
