An anti-gambling group is asking state regulators to stop distribution of a new Iowa Lottery game. “Treasure Tower” is a compact disc game sold with three lottery scratch tickets. Ray Lasell of “The Truth About Gambling Coalition” says since the game’s played on a personal computer, it’s video gambling, which is illegal in Iowa.”Treasure Tower” goes on sale Monday in Linn, Johnson and Dubuque Counties. Lottery officials say “parental controls” are included in the game, but Lasell says that won’t deter kids. The chairman of the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission says legislators should review the game as his commission probably doesn’t have the authority to ban it.
