Winnebago opens new plant

October 16, 2000 By admin

Winnebago Industries has opened a new manufacturing plant in Charles City. The 50-thousand-square-foot facility will turn out Winnebago’s new “Ultimate” brand motor homes. It’s the first line of Winnebago products to be made outside of Forest City. Sixty-four people work at the plant today. A workforce of 150 should be on-line next fall. The plant was purchased a year ago. Plant improvements were financed by grants from the state, Floyd County, and Charles City.
