ABATE rally to move locations

The ABATE Freedom Motorcycle Rally held over the Independence Day weekend is going to be moving from Humboldt to Algona.The ABATE Rally, which stands for A Brotherhood Aimed Toward Education, will move to Algona over the July 4th weekend of 2002. Jim Berte of Bode, ABATE’s assistant state coordinator, says the costs of holding the rally were getting too high in Humboldt.Berte says the rally will be a huge economic boost for Algona.He estimates it will generate one-and-a-half million dollars during the weekend as thousands of bikers attend.
