Cyclones have a lot on the line against the Aggies

October 17, 2000 By admin

There is plenty to accomplish for Iowa State as the Cyclones prepare for their homecoming game against Texas [email protected] With a victory the Cyclones would wrap up their first winning season since 1989, become bowl eligible and be 6-1 for the first time in 62-years. Cyclone coach Dan McCarney.says considering the circumstances, this game should sellout. McCarney says “If they’re (the fans) not going to support us now, I don’t know which decade they’re going to.”Carl Gomez took over the place kicking duties after Mike McKnight missed a point after touchdown and field goal. McCarney says Gomez remains the starter. He says they put Gomez in on a “gut feeling” and it turned out well. McKnight will still kick off.
