Pilot and student killed in plane crash

Two Sioux City men were killed today when a small plane crashed in northeast Nebraska. Rod Herron, the Chief Deputy of the Dakota County, Nebraska Sheriff’s Department, says the plane flew out of the Sioux Gateway Airport. He says the two-engine plane was found about 50 feet from a house in a pasture.The victims were identified as a Sioux City Flight instructor and student. Instructor Tom Holbert and student Glenn Hunnel were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Deputy Herron says federal investigators are on the way to the scene.
